Born in Recife, Brazil in 1963, Romero BRITTO is an artist who mixes various influences such as PopArt, Cubism and graffiti in his works. He had his first exhibition at the age of 14 but it was in 1989 that he appeared on the international scene by creating bottle labels for an advertising campaign for the vodka brand Absolut.
He has since collaborated on numerous events such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, designed the costumes for the 41st Super Bowl and the logo for the 2014 Football World Cup in Brazil.
In 2007, he was named Arts Ambassador for Florida where he moved into a workshop of more than 5000m2 in the Coconut Grove district.
His works are now present in more than 120 countries around the world, notably at the Louvre Museum for example. He also created numerous public installations such as the Dancing Boy in Beaulieu-sur-Mer or the great pyramid in Hyde Park in London.
Among his collectors, we find Pope Francis, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Prince Charles, Leonardo Di Caprio…
His style of drawing with vibrant colors and simple shapes has since been in high demand by large companies, both for paintings and sculptures as well as for the visual identity of products. He is also the artist with the largest number of licenses in the world with partnerships for Evian, Disney, Bentley, Hublot, Apple, Coca, Roederer champagnes etc.
It was in 1992 that Romero BRITTO gave a name to his work: the Happy Art Movement!!
Its mission is to inspire happiness, fun, love and optimism around the world. His works are a living representation of happiness accessible to all. Much more than an art, it is also a philosophy because from his point of view, everything can become a source of happiness. And this philosophy is immediately recognized in his works through the interweaving of bright colors, curved lines and generous shapes.
It is perhaps utopian of him to imagine that his works can allow us to access serenity, happiness in a world where we feel the pangs of suffering every day and in this, he does not is not naive either. Despite everything, he is convinced that it is collectively and thanks to each of us that the world can change; happiness is contagious and it is through our common commitment that we will succeed in creating a world with more compassion and less conflict.
So, be part of the Happy Art Movement, share happiness and love with your loved ones, and put some works by Britto in your living spaces to feel all the love around you.
Don’t Worry, be HAPPY !!
